Rapid Orthodontics, or Periodontally Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontics (PAOO), is a combination of orthodontics and a surgical procedure that allows significantly reduced treatment time for adults in braces. PAOO allows non-growing patients to be treated two to three times faster compared to traditional braces.
How does PAOO work?
Dr. Walther performs an office based procedure near the beginning of your orthodontic treatment. A specially designed incision is placed in the gums and jaw along with a bone grafting material. After the procedure is complete and the body is healing, your orthodontist starts moving the teeth. The procedure performed on the jaw allows the teeth to straighten rapidly compared to traditional braces.
